Anti-Aging Facial Exercises that Tighten and Tone Saggy Skin by NUME-Lab
Anti-aging facial exercises and face yoga are recent trends that skyrocketed for a good reason. As we age, the skin on our faces tends to lose its elasticity and firmness, leading to sagging and wrinkles.
While there are many treatments available to address these issues, such as botox and facelifts, not everyone is willing or able to go under the knife. Luckily, there are natural and non-invasive methods to tone and tighten saggy skin – facial exercises!
That’s right, exercising your facial muscles can help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin, giving you a more youthful and lifted look. Plus, it’s completely free and can be done anywhere, anytime.
In this article, we’ll share three anti-aging facial exercises that are simple, effective, and easy to incorporate into your daily routine. So grab a mirror and get ready to work those facial muscles!

The Science Behind Facial Exercises
Face yoga and facial exercises have gained popularity in recent years as a natural and non-invasive way to improve the appearance of aging skin.
The science behind these practices is rooted in the principles of muscle training and facial anatomy. Just as exercising your body muscles can tone and strengthen them, face yoga and facial exercises can tone and strengthen the muscles in your face, which results in a more lifted and youthful appearance.
By targeting specific facial muscles, these exercises help improve blood circulation, stimulate collagen production, and promote lymphatic drainage, which can reduce puffiness and dark circles.
Additionally, by releasing tension in the facial muscles, face yoga helps relax the face and diminish wrinkles and fine lines.
Fast Fact:
The optimum time to try is right after finishing applying your skincare, morning or night. Make sure your hands are clean as you’ll be touching your face!
1. The Jaw Toner and Double Chin Remover
Good for: saggy cheeks, strengthening the jawline, diminishing double chin
Step 1: Smile widely
Step 2: Open your mouth while smiling
Step 3: Position your mouth as if making an “aaaa” sound
Step 4: From there, cover your lower teeth with your lower mouth and press inwards
Step 5: Push your lower jaw outwards as far as it goes
Step 6: Stop when you feel resistance
Step 7: Hold in that position and place two fingers on both sides of your mouth to help keep it longer
Another way to tone your chin and jaw is to make a hook shape with your index and middle finger, and run the finger knuckles along your left and right jawlines. You’ll feel tons of knots and connective tissue strengthening out. This is a type of facial draining procedure that greatly helps shape your face.

2. The Cat Eye and Brow Lifter
Good for: fixing drooping eyebrows, diminishing eye hollows, helping with crow’s feet
Step 1: Place the ends of both palms onto the temples on both sides of your head
Step 2: Ensure the palm ends are placed on top of the eyebrow ends
Step 3: Press into your temples with both palm ends
Step 4: Slowly start pulling back and up
Step 5: Start closing and squinting your eyes
Step 6: Once you feel a resistance from the muscle below your eyes, hold for a few seconds
Step 7: Throughout all this time, ensure your neck, forehead, and other facial muscles are relaxed
An alternative exercise is to place your index fingers under each eye pointed toward your nose, and look up to the ceiling while fluttering your eyelashes. You should feel the muscles under your eyes slightly pushing against your fingers, which is how you know you’re doing the exercise right. This is great for dealing with eye bags and puffiness.
3. The Forehead Smoothener
Good for: diminishing the deep horizontal wrinkles on your forehead
Step 1: Place both hands on your forehead, with palms facing inward
Step 2: Spread your fingers from your index to the little finger between your hairline and eyebrows
Step 3: Gently sweep from the middle of the forehead outwards, pressing lightly to smoothen and tighten your skin
Step 4: Relax your forehead and repeat up to 10 times
