No Parabens

What Are Parabens?

Parabens are synthetic chemicals used to prolong shelf-life in mainstream beauty products. So, their only purpose is to act as preservatives. However, clean beauty enthusiasts avoid them at any cost due to the many short and long-term side effects.

Why Paraben-Free Skincare?

Skincare products where you see a label “no parabens”, “paraben-free”, or “0% parabens” don’t contain any of these chemicals typically used to prolong shelf-life.

If a product doesn’t have a “no parabens” label on the packaging, check the list of ingredients. Typically, parabens will be in the ingredients list as propylparaben, butylparaben, parahydroxybenzoate, or methylparaben.

The most significant reason you should avoid parabens in your beauty products is that they disrupt hormonal balance and mimic estrogen. In return, this can affect a person’s reproductive health and cause hormone-related cancers.

Knowing that our skin can absorb these harmful chemicals, we formulate only paraben-free skincare here at NUME-Lab Switzerland.
